Animal Care

Buckinghamshire College Group is delighted to be teaming up with Tiggywinkles, the world’s busiest wildlife animal hospital, to provide Level 2 and 3 Animal Management qualifications.

Tiggywinkles works tirelessly to support sick or distressed wild animals. They treat over 10,000 wild animal casualties every year, and so the practical skills you will gain alongside your qualification means the vast majority of students go into further education or gain employment within this field.

The courses take place at Tiggywinkles’ premises in Haddenham, where you’ll be working hands-on with all the different species of sick and injured wild animals. Students will be involved in cleaning, feeding and learning handling techniques for all types of creatures, from baby birds to swans, hedgehogs to deer and even a few reptiles! Alongside practical work, students will learn underpinning knowledge covering animal health and welfare, behaviour, animal biology, legislation, accommodation, habitats and rehabilitation. Students also learn skills such as dealing with the general public and teamwork – all of which will help them in their future career with animals.
